    Hi there

I have a number of avi videos (xvid according to GSpot) and I would like to burn them to DVD. They are about 350Mb in size and about 42 minutes long (again using Gspot).

I have never attempted anything like this before but I've read a few guides on WinAVI convertor and TMPGenc / Plus and TMPGenc DVD Author.
I realise the file need to be converted to mpeg2 in order to play on a DVD player but I'm not sure which tools to use to get the best finished product.

I guess 2 x avi's per DVD for the best quality? The easiest and simplest way for a beginner to start would be good.

Any help, advice or pointing me to other guides much appreciated.

    Cheers

Simplest: divxtodvd, add 2,3 avis and convert, author and burn.

DivxtoDVD/ConvertXtoDVD would probably fit three of those on a disc at about the same quality as it would for two. The nature of it's compression approach means two episodes would probably leave you a lot of empty space on a disc.

    Hi there

Thanks heaps for the replies. I'll download the trial version and give it a go.

As a matter for my own learning, if I was to get the best results with out an "all-in-one" program for a finished DVD what do you guys use?

    Cheers

My process is documented in more detail in several posts, but the nutshell version is

Video : Avisynth -> CCE -> mpeg veido stream -> DVD Lab Pro
Audio : Virtualdubmod -> Sound forge -> AC3 audio -> DVD Lab pro

    Burn with Prassi Ones

If you're in reading mode, look under convert left. Select AVI to DVD, and you're likely to find more guides and method for this than you can imagine.
