    Greetings all

I am new to the ripping/encoding process so please bear with me. I have a large anime DVD collection that I am trying to rip to my HD because I just bought a Creative Zen Vision M and would like to have a few episodes of my favorite anime to watch whenever I travel. I have succesfully ripped the DVD's (4 different titles) to my HD (and got rid of encryption of course) but whenever I try to encode any one of the large VOB files to WMV (preferred format for maximum compatability with the Zen) the resulting WMV
video skips frames, stutters a lot, "hiccuping" for a lack of words to better describe it! the VOB files are not corrupted as I have checked into that, the DVD I am trying to encode is "Samurai 7" I have tried lots of diferent encoders/programs but always get the same result, is it possible that the DVD has some sort of new copy protection scheme? its fairly new....
Can anyone please help with this? I am going nuts and I refuse to give up!

    What encoders ?
    What specs ?
Have you tried Windows Media Encoder 9 ?
Have you tried demuxing and working with video and audio instead of VOBs ?

Dteails about apps and processes might help us find where things are going pear-shaped.
    Read my blog here.

    Hi
    My specs are:
    Pentium 4 3200Ghz
    2GB RAM
    220GB RAID 0
    Geforce 6800 Ultra 256 Ram
    Windows XP Pro SP2

I have tried using the Windows Media Encoder but it doesnt seem to accept VOBs as an input file, the encoders I have tried are Divx 6.1, Clone DVD, Tsunami Encoder Express, and Xilisoft DVD ripper 4.0.
I have had the best results with DVD ripper 4.0, and it also allows me to encode the VOB's to WMV directly without another extra step, TMPGenc is a pain the butt because of the VA sync problems, but regardless of what I use the stuttering problem is always there, I tried using DVD decrypter as well as DVD 43 for decryption (both work great)
I really apreciate your help guys
