I'm trying to uninstall Acoustica mp3 cd burner, but for some reason it won't remove the registration information.

I registered the program using my brother's registration information, but I recenty bought the program for my own registration info. When I uninstall the program and reinstall to enter my registration info, the program won't allow me to register since it's already registered using brother's info.

Anyone have any ideas as to how to totally remove the program? I figured there was a registration file hiding somewhere, but I removed all folders and files and registry keys of the program. I'm stumped .

have you tried a program like ccleaner?

    http://www.ccleaner.com/

The tool has some advanced options for registry as well (be very careful if you use them). It is suppose to be one of the better system cleaners available, plus it is free.

I tried ccleaner as well as registry mechanic and it's still not removing the registration info. Thanks for the help though.

  5. Using "regedit" under tab "view" (I think) there is a "Find" feature. Open and type in "Acoustica" or Company name of product - and let it find entries. Delete from left pane. After the first, tap F3 to find more until finished. Maybe it may help. It does on my 98se. Not sure about other OS.
A program called "Add/Remove Pro" appears to clean up a little better than default OS program.
If someone here uses it and knows the path that would be great. Otherwise maybe a google will find a dicussion forum that has some info.
Good luck. Sometimes they are hidden well. But someone always knows where.
