    OK - here goes:
Have a Sony DVD recorder and want to edit the resulting files, which are VOB. Using TMPEnc DVD Author, I can convert them to .mpg files; however, I want to demux to separate m2v and wav files if possible to allow modification of the sound track (amplification, editing of language for little ears, etc.).

I can create a d2v and a wav file using DGMPGDec, but I still have to use TMPGEnc encoder to create the m2v and wav files and wait several hours for the re-encoding. I thought of using the original mpg file for video and the DGMPGDec-created wav file for the audio but then I get a warning from TMPGEnc DVD Author that the file size exceeds the size of the standard DVD even though the original VOB files fit on a single disk. I'm assuming that the mpg file still contains the audio track so I'm really combining audio+video with the audio in DVD Author.

I've gone through a lot of tools on this site but I can't seem to find one that does a simple demux of the VOB into separate audio and video files that I can then feed into TMPGEnc DVD Author to create a DVD. Anyone else run in to this? :(
