    my ps/2 sockets wont work and hence i carnt us emy desktop, i carnt even log into windows

    anyway i have purchased a usb wireless microsoft fingerprint keyoarb of the net, am i going to be able to use it from when i plug in the usb hub be ause it wont even be into windows yet, i dont care about all the other stuff being installed but will the keyboard and mouse allow me to type and point fromt he second i plug it in

    You may have to enable USB keyboard input in your BIOS, so yes, there might be a short installation issue. Your keyboard may also come with multimedia software.

    hmmmm, when u say enable usb ports, im confused, as long as usb ports have been enabled in the past for printers an such then should it work or are u talking about the 1st time u would use a computer

    ive lost u, dont i plug the wirelss signal thing into the same type of usb port that i would plug a printer in,

    to sum up my concern, i have no keyboard, i need to start up my comp (xp), plug in the new wireless keyboard and start typing

    Hopefully you should be able to plug in and go staight into windows.
    Some motherboards require you to enable usb keyboard in the bios so you can use it before you reach windows e.g. to set up your bios or use the boot menu.
