  1. I bought a Hauppauge PRV150 and a vcr capable of playing NTSC tapes (No quasi PAL a pure NTSC signal)

I live in europe and therefore the standard for my card is PAL. I have been trying a few different programs but no program is able to make me change it to NTSC...

I have tried Dscale (Which give me a error when i try to switch videomode)

I have tried TV2000 that is bundled with the card but that program refuse to give me any picture at all

    I am using composite...

Does anybody know what i am doing wrong or have any suggestion what other program i should try...

I don't think Hauppauge supports dual standard. The PVR models are either NTSC or PAL.

After you run the attached registerfile the WINTV2000 application should be able to select the NTSC(M) mode.
(you should be able to select all possible Video standards)

    This should work for NTSC.

Hopefully soon the PAL60 mode should also work with the 150/500 cards.
We only have to wait for a WINTV2000 fix to make it work.

  6. When I first installed my PVR-250 I seem to recall the software giving the choice of regions, thus NTSC vs PAL. You may have to uninstall and reinstall the software.

    Or try this:

    http://www.cask-of-amontillado.com/pvr_reg.html#_Enable_Both_NTSC

I see that's pretty much the same Registry patch that The_Doman suggested.

Did you try rebooting after making the change?

    How is it connected?
Did you use the composite connection before?
Even then the videostandard is wrong you would still have something of a (distorted) picture.
