  1. Hi everyone,

I have now used Ritek G04 "White Satin" for a couple of years and im VERY happy with that media, BUT they have now stopped selling these, dunno why!? I still can buy from stock here in Sweden but they cost around $2.11 each when buy 100. ($2.5 for single)

Question 1) Anyone that have a link to some stores that sell these media cheaper then $2.11 for 100?

Question 2) Anyone that have other media equal to these Ritek in quality?
I must face the fact that they don't make these anymore so i must find some other media to buy.

For me quality is high prio. the cost is not the highest issue, but still to pay more than $2 when buy over 100 is even that to high and also that they have stopped making these DVDs.

Please anyone with any information is VERY welcome!

    Thank you!

  2. Thank you for the link!

The big issue is to find a store that sell the media i need and the problem is that i don't know whats high quality media

I have now found what Ritek media i used for a couple a years:
Mirror Platinum Pro (Ritek G04) is what i have used for a couple of years and im 100% happy.

So i repeat myself, what media is equal in quality with that one???

    I found:
    Datawrite Ritek 4x Printable DVD-R (£3.75 for 25)
    4X RITEK G04 Printable DVD-R (£6.99 for 50)
    Datasafe Ritek 4x Printable DVD-R (£3.69 for 25)

Any of these that are good? equal quality with the Mirror Platinum Pro G04 i used before?

Im VERY thankful for any help i can get, thank you!

I've had good luck with Ritek G04 too, but I've had equally good luck with 4x Optodisc and 8X Ritek G05. I've had equally good or better success with 8X Verbatim, but you might check https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=293488 for some links to Ritek G04 sellers if that's really what you want.

SysOp, please post what burner you use. It will be much easier to recommend media if we know what drive we need to match it with.

Why not use Taiyo Yuden DVD-R media? TY is of higher/more consistent quality than Ritek. It's more expensive but it's worth it for sure. The 8x and 16x media work great on the 3550A; no reason to use slow 4x discs.

    Thank you!

I found many posts that stated that there are lot's of fake Taiyo Yuden out there, i found some sites that garantee that their is real but the only problem is that they don't ship worldwide, and im from Sweden.

I found though one site that ship worldwide:
    http://svp.co.uk/searchresults.php

Anyone that bought these Taiyo Yuden from that site and can tell if these are real?

The next question is now: Im aiming for some DVD-r X8 which one should i pick? they offer with silver, printable surface and different names e.g Panasonic, Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden etc... Can i pick any of them or?

Anyone else that have a direct link to media and that store sell worldwide?

Thank you again, sorry for asking all these stupid questions but i already bought 200 DVDs that i can't use because they lack in quality and i want the best.

    Edit:
I found one more store that sell these Taiyo Yuden and ship worldwide:
    http://www.meritline.com/taiyo-yuden-8x-dvd-r-silver-thermal.html

Are these media any good? real or fake?

The general concensus is that they are real. They are marked "Made in Japan", which in the US, tell us where the products are made (this info is required by law).

The Meritline TY's are surely genuine, but they ship abroad only by courier express, and the cost of that you will find is more than the cost of the products. They don't offer a cheaper and slower alternative.
