I want a AMD processor. Should i get dual core?

no serious gaming
or video processing

That's not bad but if you don't plan on doing anything in the realm of video processing or gaming a machine like that might be overkill. Why spend a ton of money on a computer you'd only use maybe 1/3 of it's power? You may want to examine the budget laptop threads in this forum section for other laptops more suited to your needs.

You could by a $499.00 Dell laptop and satisfy all your needs. No need for dual core or huge processing speeds.
