  1. Hi..

I don't spend alot of time doing video, but from time to time have to do some work. I'm realatively comfortable working with video, I run a project studio (audio) so I can relate to complex issues.

    My question/problem.

My camera (Kodak DX6490) can create movie files (MOV format). They are at 20.03 fps. I want to trim them a bit and add titles. I'm using Premiere 6.5 for editing, since it's what we have at work. It will play in the monitor window fine, but when I render it the resulting file blinks after a few seconds. When I add the title and transition (a simple crossfade) the video prior to the imported MOV file plays without blinking. After the transition it blinks. I can go back single frame and see black frames.

I tried recording to my DV cam(SHARP VL-NZ100) via 1394 cable but again it blinks. The original file plays fine in it's original MOV format - and through the Kodak or QT software. I'm thinking it's the frame rate of the project I'm creating, but there is no option for 20.03. The closest I can get is 15, and that stutters also. I selected 10 fps based on something I read on the web, but that didn't help either.

The only thing I haven't tried is copying the file to an SD card and putting that in my DV cam, playing it that way and trying to capture it. I'm not confident about that succeeding.

I'm not interested in changing the frame rate or movie size if I don't have to 320x240 will work fine for my purpose. Audio stream is fine, rock solid.

    Thanks for the read...

    Steve

I'm not familiar with Premiere, but what you are seeing sounds like the fps is being changed. Most video editing software uses a template to format the output video, although none of the presets / templates appear to match your input file, is it possible to create your own template that matches your input files?
