Is there a program that authors DVD and/or can save mpeg files to DVD that can also check the integrity of the data on disk after it burns? Someone told me it happens once in a while you think you made a DVD but not really.

Most burning software has a verify function. In my experience they are not worth spit, and produce more false positives than accurate results. Personally, I use DVD Info Pro to test the integrity of my discs, and have been happy with the results.

If you find that you thought you made a DVD, but it turned out you didn't, then you screwed up, and no verification software in the workld will fix it.

    Simple rules.

    1. Always test in the HDD Before burning
    2. If in doubt, test with an RW first
    3. DVD Infor Pro or Nero Speed Disc to do a read test

There are a bunch of file comparison utilities like winmatch or windiff that you can use also, but, if there's a problem, in my experience anyway, it's with the way the data was written, not the data itself, so as gunslinger said.
