I am looking to create the Star Wars intro (with my own text) for some home movies and have found some tutorials about the video side of things but would like to know if I can get the intro music from the DVD's in 5.1 digital sound?

You know the grand opening just after 'a long time ago in a galaxy far far away' STAR WARS that fades back. The famous music behind that. I have figured out ways to get sound clips in 2 channel WAV files but I dont know how to get the 5.1 channel sound clips.

I understand VEGAS can do 5.1 sound mixing? I dont really want to edit it (maybe just cut it short to fit my intro length) just grab whats there in surround sound.

    Is it possible?

You can use dvd decrypter and rip out the opening chapter and demux just the audio only (choose the 5.1 track). Then you'll get the ac3 file for use where you want to.

Use the stream processing tab and select only the 5.1 track and just the chapter with the text crawl.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?
