    Hi everyone.

I have been struggling with this for two days now and finally decided to post my problem. I have followed word to word the VCDEASY Guide located here:

    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/84327.php

I am trying to create a one-level menu. I have a 10 second clip for Introduction after which it should show the MPEG Still created with VCDEASY that is supposed to act as a menu. I have tried various options in the Interactivity screen like Wait infinite or Wait 30 seconds but the menu just doesn't show up. Just before the introduction clip is about to end, the video freezes and it moves by a couple of frames every 5 seconds or so. Then after a while it starts playing the main clip.

I have tried moving the menu before the introduction, it still wouldn't show. It seems to skip the file completely as if it was an invalid file. I analyzed the mpeg still in VCDEASY and this is what it gave me:

    MPEG1, PlayingTime=0.801s, Bitrate=1411200bps, PtsOffset=1639s, 108 packets

Video Stream: Still Picture, 352x240, 29.97003fps (NTSC), 104857200bps
Video Stream: Secondary Still Picture, 704x480, 29.97003fps (NTSC), 104857200bps

I am now getting frustrated and almost at the brink of creating my VCD without the menu but if someone can help me to do what I want to do, I will really appreciate.

I am creating cue/bin files in VCDEASY and playing them in Media Player Classic.

Thanks in advance for your help.....

    Subhash.

Originally, I was going to say that it sounds like you have a corrupt video file, 'cuz it shouldn't do that "flash, stutter, skip" thing AT ALL.

Then, I see you're using MPC to play the output.

THIS DOES NOT SUPPORT VCD 2.0. (which is what you've got when you use menus)

Either: put the disc in a settop player (that supports VCD 2.0)
run it with WinDVD/PowerDVD (the DISC, not the Bin/Cue)
get a copy of Roxio VCD_PLAY.exe, or something similar

If none of those work correctly, then come back and post any problems.

Gotta use the right app for the job.

Everything is cool now. The CD worked fine on my computer as well as DVD Player. Thanks a million......

Wouldn't it be nice though, if we had cue/bin player like MPC that would support VCD 2.0. Will save a lot of time in testing phase.

I downloaded Daemon Tools but cancelled intallation because it gave me a warning that the tools are not compatible with some type of Debuggers. Although, I don't think I wil be using those debuggers but I got a little apprehensive and did not want to screw anything else just for this one convenience of playing cue/bin files.

If there is any other safer method, please let me know.

    Thanks again....

Don't be afraid. Daemon Tools is an invaluable tool in your arsenal. I use it for different purposes almost daily. Many CD/DVD burner apps come with similar kinds of application too, like Nero (ImageDrive?) IIRC.
