  1. Where do I get a AC3 Source Filter for Avisynth and how to I install it?

    My script reads:

    LoadPlugin("C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\Misc\dgmpgdec146\DGDecode.dll")
    MPEG2Source("NewOrleans.d2v")
    AC3Source("NewOrleans.ac3")
    AudioDub(video,audio)

But with it written this way, VirtualDub gives me the error message:

    Avisynth open failure:
Script error: there is no function named "AC3Source"
    (E:NewOrleans\NewOrleans.avs, line3)

    Thanks!!!

Where did you get "AC3Source" as a plugin? There is a group of filters called NICAUDIO. Go to DOOM9 and search for NIC and AC3.

Well there is the old AC3 source by can't remember who. Still got it on disc somewhere though and I'm sure that the readme would say.

Nic ported some filters from TFM to an AVISynth filter called NicAudio and it includes AC3 decoding. Lets you pick the number of channels to downmix, etc. that the original never did.

If you get stuck, like I said, I would have the old filter backed up on disc somewhere.

1.) How do you install them?

2.) How do you use them in an avi synth script?

Ultimate goal: to get the video and audio (.d2v and .ac3) into VirtualDub and export as an AVI. Thanks!!!

How about RTFM? That's where I would start.

I've never been able to load ac3 into AviSynth using that plugin. I had better luck in VirtualDub Mod. Try loading your video though AviSynth script into VirtulaDub Mod, and then load the ac3 audio as an external wav source. It should work. You might have to rename the ac3 to wav. You'll also have to install the Ac3 codec for VirtualDob Mod.
