  2. Can you see the other drive from Explorer?

I've seen drives disappear because they were assigned a drive letter manually, then on a reinstall (or moving a drive from one computer to another) another drive (or DVD drive) is using that letter. The solution is to assign the other drive to a different letter (at least teporarily) so you can see the original drive.

Be aware that ms update's can also make change's that user's are unaware off .

I have seen some update's cause many unusual problem's .

Last update I recieved for winxp pro caused dvdauthorgui to think my mpeg's had been split at some stage ... had to re-encode them .

During the reinstall , did you remove the card itself from the pc ?

Almost all of these device's now require the software to be installed first ... then shutdow pc (turn off at power point) ... install device , and power system up ... allow system to detect device and install required drivers from cd supplied with device .

    If not ... it's a starting point to most ailment's .

To remove , uninstall all device driver's for this device , then the software supplied with unit ... shutdown pc ... remove device ... restart pc to make sure clean out was effective ... now install correctly as specified by device instruction's .

Also check for software update from site ... and if they have a faq or user forum where you might also find the help you need to discover the problem .

As for re-assigning driver letter's , this is best to be avoided ... some system's have no issue's , but other's will ...

It's a bit like rolling back the xp system to fix problem's ... it can and normally dose cause major headaches .
