I have a Cyberhome CH-DVD-300 connected to a Yamaha RX-V595a receiver. I am using a Monster coaxial cabled to connect the DVD player to the receiver. In the Cyberhome DVD player, I have the audio setting set to Digital Output=Spdiff/Raw. I have 6 speakers connected (sub, center, 2 fronts, 2 rears).
When my DVD is playing, if I select the audio button on the remote to change audio modes to DTS, the receiver displays Pro Logic and I cant hear anything. When I change it back to 5.1ch, the receiver shows Dolby Digital and plays like normal.

I used to use this receiver with other DVD players and DTS worked fine. I just cant remember if I had something special set on the receiver or on the DVD player to make it work.
I am not 100% sure that the Cyberhome unit plays DTS.

I have pressed a lot of buttons on both the DVD player and the receiver...most of the time not knowing what they will do
and can not get DTS to work.

    Can anyone enlighten me?

    Many thanks!!!

Look in the Setup for audio on the DVD player.

    Info from the Manual:

    DIGITAL OUTPUT
SPDIF ( Sony / Phillips Digital InterFace ) refers to the digital
audio format used by most consumer electronics equipment as
well as the Coaxial Digital Audio Output connector. If you are
using the Stereo Audio Output, change this setting to
BITSTREAM or LPCM. Generally, the BITSTREAM setting
is used with receivers capable of Dolby Digital 5.1 channel
decoding, while the LPCM 48K setting is reserved for two
    channel equipment.

In the Setup menu of the DVD player, the AUDIO tab only has two options; "Digital Output" and "Downmix Mode".

The Digital Output has the options "Spdif Off", "Spdif/Raw", and "Spdif/Pcm". I ahve mine set to Spdif/Raw

Under the Downmix Mode, the choices are: LT/RT and STR. I have mine set to STR.

I do not see any option for Bitstream or LPCM at all, and I thought I have went through all the options in the menu.

Is it possible my DVD player doesnt support DTS? I looked on Cyberhomes website for a firmware upgrade, but none were available. I dont know if this is a software thing or a hardware thing though.

    Thank you for your help.

My reading of the manual, such as it is, is that this player does not support DTS, even as a digital stream. It will only output AC3 through the digital coax connection. Unless they offer a firmware update to change this, you need to get a better player if you want DTS audio.

A second read shows in fact that they do not mention DTS at all in the mnaual, and every refeerence to digital audio output discusses only Dolby Digital (AC3).

That is what I am afraid of. I guess I need to just go and get a decent DVD player. I just wanted one that would support multi-regions as I have a lot of Region 2 DVD's, and this one did.

The DVD player does not support DTS out. This was confirmed today by Cyberhomes Tech Support.
    Thanks for all your help.
