I was following a guide for adding subtitles to dvd using dvd lab pro. Well everything went fine until I put the subtitle into dvd lab and it said "Unsupported format". I ripped the subtitles using DVD Decrypter 3540. Using DVDLab 153.

This looks like a great all around solution except for this subtitle issue!

Also, I pulled up the subtitles in Subtitle Workshop and it said they were bad as well. So maybe the problem is with DVD Decrypter? I'm ripping from a mounted ISO, maybe that's the issue.

Well, that was easy. When demuxing in DVD Decrypt you need to select RAW instead of DEMUX. At least that's the way it looks so far Have to wait and see!

OK, that didn't work. When I hit "Generate" in DVD Lab nothing happened. Now I need some help. Help?

Sounds like you've used the guide by theMatrix. I've used that 1 myself to put new subs on dvd. I always rip the subs with subrip to get the *.srt file. Then adjust new subs to this and use dvdlab to remux. Works just fine this way.
Results are always a good quality movie with right subs.

Excellent suggestion. Looks good. I tried it and found that the process of generating the subs w/ OCR was very time consuming for this one; way too many corrections. So I'll try it with the next movie that I re-author.

In my experience, using subrip, there's only one correction needed for each character (and one if it's in italic). Possibly one or 2 more along the way where characters are too close together. Usually no more than 10 minutes to rip & OCR a full movie.

Humbly suggest muxman... If you want menus (orig or new) VobBlanker lets you replace titles in menued DVD layout with versions from muxman. While more steps, total time is less I think, & IMO easier.
