decoding wma pro possible?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it in the forums.

Is it possible to decode wma pro? I want to reencode it in AC3, but so far I am unable to do the decode part.

Playing back is decoding. So, yes, but I think only via MS' DMO decoder. Should work via graphedit, mplayer, etc.

Hi I have got around this problem in some way. Its not nice but it works...

If you have a wmv clip with wma pro (usally 5.1 ch) audio, you can convert it to 2ch 48kHz stereo...

load the clip into Window movie maker, dragit down to the time line...

And save it as a DV-PAL/NTSC...now you must have a larg amount of free space
on your harddrive(well it depends on how long your clip is), the data rate is 30 Mbits.

After the conversion is finished load the DV-clip into VirtualDub and save the audio as wav...

We will not use the video stream, we have got what we wanted the audio..

Now we must join the audio with the orignal video source... and here is one way to do it...

Open DVDflick and insert the wmv clip. Now DVDflick will complain about the audio format of the
video file, just click OK.

Then edit title and remove the original audio and replace it with the saved wav file...

Thats that....How DVDflick handels aspect ratios Im not sure but you must know if your soucre
is NTSC/PAL or 16:9/4:3 format. and enter these settings...

Create your DVD.....Open the VOB files with Projectx and cut out the parts you want.

Save the file in .ts format...

Open the .ts file with AutoGK and convert it to a .avi container (using Xvid)....


Why convert a mpeg4 clip to a mpeg4....well I dont like Bill Gates very much.....xxxx

Maybee there are other ways to do this conversion, but this one is free...

And there is no need to downlaod some "strange software" from Microsoft...
