Talk to a local DVD rental shop (not the chains). They often offer DVD restoration services as they already own the equipment. Here they advertise on radio.
Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

Polish them. There are devices you can use for this, or just use some mild abrasive, like white toothpaste or Brasso polish with a cotton ball. Go crossways, not in line with the 'grooves'.

But I would back up the disc ASAP.

I dont recommend using such service's , having already esperienced several foul up's .

They setup the machine and walk away ... if machine run's low on fluid , which it can do , your disc's are cooked for good .

The best product's are from wipe out , I personally showed in front of several people a dvd I deliberately scratched with a nail to ruin it , then used 600 grit wet and dry sand paper to remove the scratch , then wipeout to restore the surface to 100% readability ... they couldnt believe it .

This scratch was half the depth of the media , and took around 6 minute's to restore .

The product line is represented by this company in america

    http://inkjetrefillkit.net/product.php?product=CD+Scratch+Repair+Kit&lazySID=fvXuBlkjx...cawz1140904916

This is the basic one , I use it all the time with no problem's on cd's or dvd's .

It's what you should go for in your country .

    Don't go for those 2in1 product's , there utter garbage .

I don't know why anyone would want to go to a reseller for Wipe Out just for the priviledge of spending more money. Buy it directly from the company and spend less. Here is their URL http://www.wipeoutcdrepair.com/ They are in Long Beach, California.

  6. I've never had any luck with fixing badly scratched discs...

DvdDecrypter or DVDShrink always crap out as does Alcholo... The only thing I can do is use DVDFabDecrypter to copy the badly scratched dvd and then burn it to dvd-r or +r.... If it needs to be reduced in size, I then run the ripped files against DVDShrink.... Works 80% of the time...
