  1. Hello,
I’ve been using these 2 Filters for quite some time now with no noticeable problem:

    ac3filter_0_70b
    ffdshow-20041012

    But I noticed here:
    http://www.free-codecs.com/download/AC3_Filter.htm
    http://www.free-codecs.com/download/FFDShow.htm

That there are two newer versions:
    ac3filter_1_01a_rc5
    ffdshow-20060202-icc-sse2
(Which supports the SSE & SSE2 instructions found in the Pentium 4 CPUs)

Also it is mentioned that there is a bug in ac3filter_0_70b that can be fixed with the AC3 Filter 0.7b FIX found here:
    http://www.free-codecs.com/AC3_Filter_download.htm

So has anybody tried the 2 newer versions & are they stable, or should I stick to the older 2 versions?

    Thanks in advance.

There's an old saying around here: no one should change anything when a team is winning the game. So I'm keeping my old versions, temporarily, of course.

  3. I mostly just watch DivX, Xvid, mpeg1,2,4, etc… I don't encode anything.
So, if I install both (Latest or older) ac3filter & ffdshow, will they have any effect?
