Without sounding gay, I would like to apologize for my rude reply to your post. Forum posting is not a good idea whenever you've had a not so great evening. To be truthful I've never had an issue with you, personal or otherwise.

For all of those that may have been offended by my post:

BUGGER OFF! This apology is not for you.

Thanks to BJ_M for not closing this thread and adding a bit of levity.

I hate that too. Happened to my wife recently. She bumped her purse at a bar counter and stuff fell under the guy 2 stools over. She excused herself twice without the guy responding, so she bent over to pick them up and the guy starts going off on her. I step in and tell the guy to hold on a moment and that she clearly excused herself as he ignored her. He wasn't talking to anybody and he wasn't absorbed into anything but the half-glass of beer he was nursing. He replies saying she should keep her s**t in her purse and be more careful. I tell him it was an accident. He goes and tells me if I want an accident on my face. The bartender, a friend of ours, jumps in and asks the guy to move to another area of the bar or leave the establishment. The guy gets all pissed and moves to an end of the bar. Alan, the bartender, quickly gives us a couple of Sprite/Cranberry cocktails (we don't drink. Wife doesn't have any alcohol and I wouldn't be able to stop if I ever started even a light beer or bottle of Nyquil), at no charge. I think the guy started with someone else later on and was asked to leave. WTF? why do people have to act like that? I don't care what kind of day you've had, but if you have issues leave them home. If you can't leave them home, see a psycoligist and get a prescription for prozac.

    Or Metrosexuals.

That's just a term that allows gay men to stay in the closet, yet still be open about their lifestyle.

On that note, I don't believe in bisexuals. They are really just homosexuals who think that bi is more acceptable.

    or they're porn stars.

    or both.

I have nothing against gay people. Quite the opposite. Pretenders piss me off.

I have nothing against ghey people either. I think saying you're ghey is more acceptible than saying you'd rather be a drag queen. Drag queens are still frowned upon, but if you say you're ghey or planning to get a "gender reassignment", then dressing in women's clothes is totally acceptible. Dude you're a fag, and if you want to chop the Willy OFF, then you're a sick fag. You're no different than a hetero-S&M submissive. An S&M aggressor is basically an excuse to be a spouse beater, with consent.

I totally envy gay men. Think about it; being gay, you wouldn't have to deal with all the things that men deal with - All the bullshit that goes with being a man. You constantly have to worry about whether you look gay or are acting gay or something you say may be misconstrued as gay. Meanwhile, you can't even agree that another man is attractive without feeling the "gay guilt".

Gay men on the other hand can do all of this stuff... and it all comes back to "he's gay... it's cool".

On a serious note: I think it is a shame in the world we live in that people feel that they have to hide in the closet because they feel the world will not accept them.

What is up with gay people and state parks?

Smearbrick this is quite possibly the gayest paragraph I've ever read.

I've never thought, let alone worry about whether I look gay or are acting gay. The only time I can even remember wondering if other people thought I was gay was last saturday when I wore one of my wife's teddies to town. I won't do that again, the stockings kept pulling my leg hair...it was quite uncomfortable.

Yea, it seem like the only down side to being gay is...well...being gay.

What I don't understand is why do they care? I don't care. If I decide to marry a black woman, that's mine and her decision, none of anyone elses business and I personally don't care what anyone else thinks. Maybe that's just me, I don't know. A few years ago me and a friend went to a Reggae music festival in Dayton. I was litterally the only white guy there, and I'm sure everyone was starring at me, so what.

OH and Doramius...don't knock the drag queens. I had a girl in class last year who got her homecoming dress from her manager at Perkins, who is by his own admission gay and dresses as a female on a regular basis. It was a great dress and she looked really good in it and received several compliments on it. I asked but he didn't have one in my size.

I think you missed my point, or I worded it too confusing. I was just saying Drag Queens often are frowned upon, because there are some that aren't ghey. If you are, people seem to be more willing to accept it. Why is it more acceptable to be ghey & a drag queen, but not as acceptible to be a drag queen & hetero. I feel in that instance, some people may say they are BI, though they'd never be with a man, just because it would seem more acceptible. I would find a man who was hetero that would walk around wearing women's clothes with a male confidence and attitude would be deserving of more respect. Women wear men's clothing all the time and still act like a woman and get the same respect. Why the discretion?

It doesn't even have to be female clothing. I have a friend who is Scottish (mostly German, but the Scottish is tied with royalty so he's more proud of that heritage). He has actual kilts that are not DRESS kilts or formal kilts. Some without a pattern or the standard plaid design. Some are just striped and look like regular clothes would, but they are definitely a kilt. He gets asked if he's a drag queen all the time, or sometimes will be hit on by a gay person. IT'S A KILT DAMMIT. Not all kilts look like the traditional formal wear, or bear the family colors. Why is it so unacceptible?

Close to that, on occasion I'd like to look at the face of the person while I'm having sex with them. Especially, if I am in a relationship with that person. One night stand I could fathom.

My wife slapped me last night when I picked her up at work. One of her co-workers had a wrist splint on her right hand. I knew she was a lesbian and had a girlfriend. I asked if she was going bowling, because she is usually in the summer bowling league with me and my wife. She says, "No. It's a splint, because I have tendonitis." I make a quick comment, totally not even realizing I had said it out loud, "I bet that puts a damper on your relationship." My wife slapped me in the office and said it was inappropriate, but laughed when we got in the car.

I don't know what you are talking about, all the drag queens I've dated were gay.

Maybe I already posted this one. I can't remember... this thread is 6 pages long.

When someone posts "Which PC should I buy? Off the shelf pc #1 for $800.00 or off the shelf pc #2 for $650.00. The only difference is .3ghz of speed."

    The answer they get:

"I wouldn't buy prebuilt. Build your own."

How many times are we going to see this answer to these questions?

It makes more sense to build your own. You know exactly what you have in it. You customize it how you want it, and you have plenty of room to expand, if you want. It will also not be built with obsolete stats like 128MB of RAM.

Many times you can also build it for less cost, or have better stuff for the same cost. If you're gonna spend $650-$800 on a PC, build your own.

Est. cost for decent, but low cost items.

Retail WinXP - $180-200 (Or less than $100 for the upgrade version which can still do a full installation. Interesting little function I found.)
    Processor - $150
    Mobo - $80
    Video Card - $100
    Ram - $100
    HDD - $100
    Case - $50
    DVD±RW - $50
    Keyboard & Mouse - $20
    -------------
    Est. Total - $800

And some of those amounts are a bit higher than what the actual costs are. I've built PCs for $800 with all of these compnents and a decent 17" CRT monitor.

As long as people are going to ask that question, this will always be the answer

a few years back the differece was big but these days it's not so bad with pre builts, especially bargain ones . Yeah you may get crappy memory etc but you can soon upgrade stuff and sometimes even get the store to do it.

I used to build stuff for people but then I got sick of getting the 'support' calls. Most times it was update happy clicking/spyware/virus/self inflicted software crap most times and very rarely was it hardware failure

these days I only build stuff for close friends/family but even that can be demanding for 'support' . Everyone else I just recommend a spec for their budget and PC requirements and point them to the local PC shop that I know well. The local PC shop now builds custom spec PC's for £25 but the best thing is they can deal with all the 'support' afterwards as I've nothing to do with it

I was referring to the fact that you can pick your own motherboard. Most OEM stuff is limited. You might only have two slots for RAM sticks, where if you built your own system you could get a board that had more. If you bought a prebuilt oem, you usually get extra software stuff that you did not want. Oem's also do not provide a restore disc anymore. Instead, you get a separate partition on the hard drive with the oem image on it. If you replace the MB for any reason with an OEM, you are screwed. You also have less room to work with. You would need to buy another version of the OS.

    Just my 1 cent.

My point wasn't whether one is better or the other. Anyone with a bit of computer knowledge knows that a home built system is most likely the way to go if you want more bang for the buck. My point was that instead of answering the question, posters go off on another tangent that is not really relevant to the OP's question. What if the person doesn't know how to assemble a PC? What if they are lazy? What if they live alone and a quadriplegic?
