Hi Guys, I come to you as my last resort, I need to get my problem figured out quickly. Rather then re-type and explain everything I have quite the interesting thread going over a msfn.org on my problem. Any help you guys can give I would REALLY appreciate it.

Sounds like your PC has some damaged (corrupted) drivers, and only a QT movie is instigating a procedural call to a portion that is corrupt.
You can verify this by copying the file to disc and trying it out on somebody else's computer. If it's ok there, you may need to "repair" or replace/reinstall the driver(s) in question, reistall the OS, reformat the HD, or get a completely different HD, depending on how bad and pervasive the error is.

It might be quicktime's recently played file list. Maybe it's looking for a file recently played on a removable disk and now it can't handle not finding that file.
In Quicktime:
File -----> Open Recent -----> Clear Menu
worth a shot i guess... -

Sorry, didn't give it a thorough read the 1st time around.
I still agree with that other thread guy about it being corruption of the HD.
Since QT isn't hooked into the system (at least not like Directshow), you could try this:
Do a VERY thorough disc scan, attempting to fix any bad sectors.
Make sure no stub of QT is running.
Rename all your QT system files to ??????.???.bad.
Then, remove the references to QT in your registration database.
Now, AFA your computer is concerned, you don't have QT installed (yet the spots on the HD where the QT files reside are still used up).
Reinstall a fresh copy of QT. Then you can delete all the "bad" files.
Note: This is not easy to do and requires some knowledge of Reg Database, etc. But if you've made it this far and know about Dumps, you probably can do it.
Hopefully that's all it is.

It's not exactly something you can walk someone through, as you need to know exactly what files QT is using (DLLs and such), as well as a reasonable knowledge of registry editing (not for the faint of heart) as you can quite easily bugger something up.If in doubt, Google it. -
lol well how does anyone know each and every dll that quicktime uses?

Judging by what I've read (I read the whole thread), I'd be inclined to echo what they've said for a few pages and say that it's gotta be something to do with your internal hard drive. For some reason there's a corruption taking place whenever you try to play the files off your OS drive, yet an external drive works fine. I'd be inclined to either grin and bear it and just play these files off your external hard drive, or alternatively, do the last resort that fixes all problems - reformat and reinstall windows from the ground up. Whilst not entirely practical, it'll cure all ills in one fowl swoopIf in doubt, Google it.
