Weird prob with AC3 codec

After encoding a movie using WinAvi 7.1 to dvd using the AC3 codec, it works fine on the computer but no sound on my stand alone player. Ive checked the dvd disc for correctly installed audio using MPeg inspector and it reports back Dolby Digital 5.1. but TMPGenc reports no audio data available. could it be corrupted somehow? I also ran Nero Recode which detected Dolby digital 5.1 too but after re -encoding to dvd again still no sound on a stand alone dvd player? Any help would be grateful thanks in advance

Maybe the mapping of your soundtrack isn't correct?

Cheers ill have a look round i just noticed some codecs for Nero i think ill install those vecause it has support for Dolby- AC3. many thanks bye for now.
