Do any of you know any good DVD Burning software? I use Roxio DVD Copy 2 Deluxe to burn my DVD files and i havnt been succesful once. It plays (if it plays at all) the first 15 mins then it starts to freeze like crazy until it just stops. Can anybody recomend good burning software?

    PS
Is it possible that it might have something to do with the dvd, burn speed, burner or player?

2 good burning softwares are dvddecrypter (ISO Write) and Copytodvd. It could be media as Baldrick said. What media are you using. Use Dvdinfopro Free Version and get the media code for us.

As soon as Roxio got into DVD Burning their software went to crap.
I use Prassi Ones to burn DVD folders...and DVDDecrypter to burn DVD images.
There are many better "simple burning" apps out there than Roxio or even Nero. Most people never use half of the features in Roxio or Nero or other "all in one" packages...in my opinion.

I used Roxio, then NTI, then Nero and tried a bunch of others. My favorite now is ONES by Prassi http://www.tx-software.com/

No coasters, wide variety of burning options. One of the best features is when copying DVDs instead of aborting at an error, it can keep trying (depending on options selected). I managed to make a copy of a kids game than had been terribly scratched, scuffed and no longer worked. It took like 4 hours to hammer its way through, but the copy worked.

There are a bunch of reviews and information out there, such as: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_applications/prassi_ones.cfm

It's pretty cheap, about $20 US.

  6. I use Roxio EMC7.1 to burn my dvd's and it works flawlessly.

It's hard to give advice with such limited information, but a few suggestions:
    1. make sure your drive firmware is current.
    2. use good quality media.
    3. do not burn at max speeds - select a speed midway in the range of your burner and media capabiities.
    4. go to Roxio.com and go into the user forum area. Describe your problem in detail. You will find a number of folks there with decent knowledge and a willingness to assist you.

I use Nero 7 for all my burning needs. You may have problems with bad media, but there isn't enough info to tell.

    I have been using...

Memorex DVD+R 16X Media(Media code/Manufacturer ID RICOHJPN R0) (I am buying Verbatim DVD+R I heard they were supposed to be good)
Sony DW-Q28A DVD Burner (how do i get firmware?) ( I have been thinking of going with the Plextor 716SA if it is nesaccery)
Roxio Easy DVD Copy 2 (Nero Burning Rom has been recomended, Im thinking of going with ulead moviefactory)
Trying to play on a Zenith XBV243 (will be changing dvd player soon)

I basically want burning software that will let me burn VIDEO TS folders and let me author dvd's from home movies etc.

is there any other info i should include? I will be glad to.
