We all know that the built-in mics of our consumer video cameras have not a great quality – specially when the original sound we want to capture is some 10 or 15 meters away from the cam.

So, I’m looking for external wireless stereo microphone sets, composed by the mic itself (the transmitter) and the respective portable [mini]receiver that we connect to the additional mini-jack mic plug of the cam. That’s similar to the material that TV channels use in their news reports but, of course, at consumer scale.

So, is there anyone using this kind of devices? If yes, can you tell me the brand names, prices, related links, etc.?

    Thanks,

    Mário

    check dv.com & musiciansfriend.com

You can buy wireless mics or add-ons for reg. Research the alternatives and determine how much you can spend, basically (you can easily spend over $1000 US). If you're going beyond typical consumer level, recording via mixer to mini-disc is popular -- use the built-in or another external mic & camera to record audio to sync or match mini-disc recording.
