does anyone know how to extract avi files from a .dat(NOT the vcd type)? it goes like this, in some chinese pc games i have, all the movie files are in a file with a .dat extension that only plays the 1st clip when i try to play it in media player or some other players. however i know the rest of the movies are in the .dat as i have extracted them before using some program, which got deleted accidentally and i dont remember the name of it. can anyone help?

A really big guess, check the SCC Tools site: http://www.geocities.com/mcpoodle43/SCC_TOOLS/DOCS/SCC_TOOLS.HTML
for a prog called General Parser & see if that will work? If I remember correctly one of it's original functions was similar to what you want.
