I'm new to this as well, but I believe you'll need an mpeg encoder to make the mpeg dvd standard. Also, a program to edit if needed. And I wouldn't burn a dvd with Nero (there are plenty of posts about problems with the compatibility of Nero burned dvds. Try either dvd decrypter in Iso write. Or something like copytodvd (has a 14 day full functioning trial version)

First off, get to know what is DVD compliant. If you look to the upper left for 'What is' DVD, that will give you the specifications of the format.

If your MPEG-2 fits into those specs, then all is to do is author it and burn it to DVD. Authoring is the process of creating the DVD disc format, adding menus and chapters. If you are tight on money, there are free encoding and authoring programs available in 'Tools', also to the left.

The most important part of creating a DVD is to educate yourself about the process. There are quite a few guides here available for that.

  4. It is still better to record (covert) your film correctly. However, if you really have trouble to do so, try Ulead before others. Ulead's software is usually quite forgiving on this.
