Any advice on this model, It is at best buy for like $179 or something i was pretty convinced after all the talk on the other post that this is what i am going to get but would like some specific input from people who own it.

    Features?
    Quality?
What media brand is the best to use?
    thanks

  2. Adding to DUPMJ23's post, is the Toshiba a good machine for making VHS to DVD transfers? How does it stack up in this area to the JVC DR-M100 for this task? Thanks in advance for your comments.

  3. There are tests of the Toshiba DR-4 on this link,

    https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=279460&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30

    along with results for Panasonic DMR-ES10, Pioneers DVR-531H, 320, Lite-On LVW 5007, JVC DR-M10S, Sony RDR-HX900, Adaptec AVC-2200.

It is important to remember that the recorder is only one part of your system. What you record can depend on other equipment. You may have environmental conditions that affect recording quality as well.

For example, the Pioneer 531H looks good recording from sources like broadcast TV, VHS, etc. but hook it up to a 500+ line resolution security camera and it does not look as crisp as other recorders.
