Do you mean the DVD Region codes?

All region would be a DVD that can play on most any machine in any zone. May or may not be PAL or NTSC. 4:3 is the aspect ratio, same as a regular TV in that case.

    Don't know Xbox.

I'm guessing as they usually call it regions, not zones. A PAL DVD will still not play on a NTSC only player, no matter what region it is. If it's the same thing 'All Zone' would mean it has all the codes on it, basically region free and would play in any zone. Some public domain videos or decryted videos would be region free.

Multi-zone refers to region codes, not format. In your case it clearly says it is a PAL release. All zone may have all regions set, or be set to region 0.

Will it play back in your NTSC player ? Who knows. Your player may play it back, but your TV may not take the signal. You need to read the manual for your player and TV to be sure.

Look up the guides section for NTSC-PAL or do a forum search. It can be done, but is it worth it. Cheap multi-format players can be purchased to save the effort, especially if this is going to become a regular thing.

I suspect an .nrg file is a Nero image. You might be able to use something like isobuster to extract the contents to your HDD, otherwise you will have to burn it to DVD then rip it back to the HDD. After than, have a look at the DGPulldown guides. This seems to be the least destruction approach, although I don't believe anyone has come up with a good solution that keeps all your menus etc. intact.

Use Daemon Tools (free) to mount the .nrg. Then it's just like a DVD in a DVD ROM/burner- rip it to your hard drive. Extract the mpeg, use TMPGEnc to convert it to an NTSC aspect ration, DGPulldown for the frame rate and reauthor that file to a new DVD.

Not if you know what you're doing. Which you don't. Don't run before you can walk. This project isn't for a beginner. You might be better off taking guns1inger's advice and buy a cheap DVD player that can play PAL.

  16. well pop along to a store and see,try walmart or some other cheap store like best buy.
as for the dvd not playing,if it doesnt just rereip it with dvddecrypter to remove the region protection(if it has some),then play it in a cheap player..
american users have a hard time playing PAL discs in there machines, but us PAL users can play NTSC just as easily as PAL.

  17. Wal-Mart usually carries the Philips DVP-642 for $60-70. Amazon.com sells it and also has $40 refurbished ones:

It'll play your DivX files also. No VHS.
