  1. every time I try to convert an xvid/divx (*.avi) to dvd with ffmpegx it always converts it to a 4:3 aspect ration. the only widescreen setting that works is dvd 16:9. if I set teh 2.35:1 on the auto size setting, the aspect ration ends up being 4:3. the dvd 16:9 setting is fine for video that is 16:9 aspect ration, but I can't figure out how to keep a 2.35:1 aspect ratio. I thought that 'unconstrained' would keep the original aspect ratio, but it goes to 4:3 also. any ideas? thanks in advanced

  2. There is no such thing as a 2.35:1 DVD, you need to add black bars and use 16:9.
