    Hi,

I'm having a problem when using dvd lab pro to make a dvd. Heres the problem:

    1. I have some tv episodes that i would like to put onto dvd. The originals are in avi format. I convert them into mpeg2 using winavi then add them into dvd lab pro. it gives me the recommended option to transcode the audio so i do sothen i make a menu etc.. nothing to advanced. I click on the compile button and it goes thru the motions as normal. But when i check the outcome (video_ts) each episode has no sound after about 10 mins. why is this?

    2. using the same original avi's i this time convert them to vobs using winavi again. Add them into dvd lab pro, demuxes them etc etc. add a menu then compile. but this time the outcome vide_ts is only around 1.5gb when it should be just under a dvd's worth. So the dvd is not compiled and has only one episode on it if that. why is this?

I have been using dvd lab pro now for a while and have never come across this problem until afew days ago. I've made many dvds with menus and there have all worked fine but for some reason it just doesnt wanna know now. I have tried using different software but with most i dont rteally know what i'm doing, plus with tmpgenc dvd aurther the final dvd is way out of sync.

any ideas as to what the problem could be. As i said before it used to work but for some reason it just wont turn out right when i'm trying to make a dvd using these avi's. The origianls work fine cus i've watched all the way thru and there flawless.

    cheers

I would suggest your problem is WinAVI. I suspect it is not creating truely compliant source for DVD Lab Pro to work with. Use a real encoder instead. If you must use a one-click-wonder, try ConvertXtoDVD instead.

    Free : Quenc, HCEnc
Pay : Tmpgenc Plus, CCE Basic, Procoder Express, Procoder, Mainconcept

You may also need to look at virtualdub or avisynth to resize and filter before frameserving to the encoder.

so even tho the mpeg2/vob that i'm left with after using winavi works fine it still could be the problem?

also is it best to encode to mpwg2 or vob's?

i'll try those you've said above.

    cheers
