This is slightly off-topic, but I was thinking of upgrading my 12" DVI PowerBook's memory. The specifications are DDR266 PC2100 SODIMM. Does this mean that anything above this will also work, e.g. DDR333 PC2700 or DDR400 PC3200, or does it have to exactly the PC2100?

    Thanks

DDR memory was designed to be backward compatible, but there are no guaranties; the motherboard has to support it. The speed of RAM memory is based on the frontside bus, so for a 133 MHz bus, 266 MHz Double Data Rate memory seems to fit. If higher speed memory works in this Mac, don't expect a performance gain.

Thanks. It's purely a cost thing. The higher speed memory is actually cheaper than the older types. Must be a supply and demand thing.
