I am pretty new to this whole process and love it! I've been using Mactheripper and also just tried yade X to both strip the same chapter of My simpsons Dvd I own. After the DVD is stripped, I open the file and the images are very blocky and and pixelated in wierd ways during some animation portions that are fast paced. Why is this? What can I do to get the best TV DVD quality that I can? Next i convert the VOB into DV and tried demuxed files as well, to edit the video into Final Cut Pro. Same results, which lead me to believe that it's the actual VOB file that is the problem and not the conversion at all. Any suggestions? Thanks a million!

Try re-ripping the whole disc,
then try extracing the chapter you want
using MPEGStreamclip to DV.
What does that play back like?
Also, how fragmented is your Hard Drive?
Do you do a lot of video? When's the last time
you ran your crons, repaired premissions, etc?"Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."
