How to capture a picture out a frame of a AVI file

I am trying to capture a frame of a AVI file to make it into a picture.
Could someone guide me to a easy way of doing this?.

I have in the pass capture frames with WINDVD, but always out DVDs, however I tried to do it out a home movie in AVI and it doesn't let me. I tried to use V-Dumb but I don't even know what to do with it.

Yes, I read them but they talk about gettting pictures out DVD. I tried that way already and it doesn't work with AVI. However I'm very thanlfull to ChrissyBoy that mention a little program called ImageGrab, and I just started to have success with it.
