    Hi,

OK, another Newbie here with more questions regarding ffmpegX. But 1st let me say to Major, thanks for a great program, it does accomplish what I was looking for which is to put my personal movies/videos on my new PSP.

I was wondering if ffmpegX can make use of a .THM (thumbnail file) associated with the video I create for the PSP in h.264 format? I probably didn't phrase that to well but somewhere I have downloaded a couple of video's for the PSP and each video comes with a 2nd associated file; .THM.

I assume this file is used instead of a generic ICON as the PSP does now when I use ffmpegX to convert my video's. Right now all my video's have the same generic ICON and I was wondering if I could add a more appropriate PSP ICON?

Also, when I 1st installed ffmpegX and associated binaries I was able to drag & drop my files to be converted to the appropriate window and all was well. I don't know when or how but as of today no matter what type of file I try to drag & drop to that same window as soon as I release the button on the mouse the file shoots back to it's original location where I was dragging from and doesn't stick to the ffmpegX program. I now have to click the open button and navigate to the source file; it works but I like the dragging version better. Question is, what has changed?

Well enough said for this post, I hate reading long posts so will end here.

    Thanks in advance,

    Rod

Here is a guide to make custom thumbnail icons for PSP with Photoshop. In short, it's a renamed JPEG file.

For the drag'n'drop, I have no clue. It works fine here.

Thanks for your input, Case. I'll be sure to take a look at the PS Guide you pointed me to. That was the 1st thing I did was just rename my .JPS to .THM but that didn't work for me so I'm looking forward to reading the guide.

I don't have PS for the Mac I'll have to check it out on a PC....

    Thanks again,

    Rod

From what I've read, the JPEG has to be 160x120. If you will, try this file: PSPTHUMB.JPG. Then rename it to M4Vxxxxx.THM, where xxxxx is the same number as in your movie filename. Any image editor that can save 160x120 JPEG files should work as well as PS, e.g. GraphicConverter or iPhoto.

Yep, Case, I got it working now; 160x120 was the key. I'm using a small program called ThumbsUp but will probably switch to iPhoto in the end.

    Thanks for your help.
