  3. Download the VFAPI plugin from The TMPGenc website and then refer to Sefy's newbie ripping guides on the left. It tells you in the problems section at the bottom how to make sure that this is installed correctly.

  5. 1) Delete your entire TMPGENC folder
    2) Download: TMPGENC / VFP PLUGIN / DVD2AVI
    3) Unzip all into the SAME folder (e.g: D:\TMPGENC )
    4) Run the TMPGEncVFP batch file.
    5) Recreate D2V/WAV files

    This WILL work!

Had this problem with loading mpg files captures with my ATI 8500dv card. It worked great before, but I had to reload winxp from scratch and all my apps. After the reinstall of win-xp, tmpgenc would load my captures mpg files with the error everyone is getting here. I loaded masses of codes, no help, installed and followed advice here from others, no help. So then I thought, what had I installed before the xp reinstall that wasnt installed yet. It was "uleads movie factory trial" software. The free demo trial from ulead's web. Then in the movie factory setting, I selected it to use mpeg2 and uleads mpeg2 filter. Anyway, tmpgenc started loading my caprtured mpg files as before with no error. I dont know what or how but movie factory set something right!
