I want to synchronize the video from the official DVD release of a match on WWE's Chris Benoit DVD set w/ the audio from a different source, as the WWE DVD has a non-removable, baddly dubbed commentary track. Which forum should I ask for help in?

    Thanks!

authoring is probably a good place to start. I'm sure a mod can move you.

As for replacing audio, there are many tools to look at. If you don't want to pull the disc apart, have alook at IFOEdit and read through the list of guides on the IFOEdit tools page. There are a couple there on audio track replacement.

Assuming they have the same runtime and video format (NTSC/PAL) then it should be pretty straight forward. Simplest way you be to make a low res avi version of the video, load that and the audio into a video editor and sync from there. Then just output the audio with the correct delay (either extra air at the start, or cutting some off) and use this to mux back into the original.

I have to check if they have the same runtime (one has intro graphics not on the other, but the match itself may be the same).

If the match isn't exactly the same then you may have yo cut the audio up and re-edit it to match the new footage.

I was able to do it w/o cutting/delaying audio after cutting at the right frames in MPEG-VCR, demuxing, remuxing, etc. The audio matched up perfect. The stuff I had to splice in at the beginning and end looked seamless on the first one and had a split second freeze on the second one, but nothing that really detracts from it. Overall, it came out ALMOST perfectly.
