Hi, this is all new to me but I have done alot of reading. I understand that a VCD menu is not the same as a DVD menu.
What is the best I can do for a menu on a VCD. Can I scroll through scene selections as a DVD or is my only choice to use the numbers? Am I able to use the FF and REW keys on my converter to move from one scene to another?
Lastly, what is the better way to do things:
    1. Merge all MPGs into 1 large MPG and create the menu at certain frames.
    2. Create many mini-MPGs and create the menu to point to specific MPGs?

I have downloaded TSCV and tried it. My menu doesnt seem to work very well but I realize there is alot of learning involved.

    TIA

  2. The main difference is that you cannot use the cursors to move an overlay graphic around the menu.

For more information on authoring menus and chapters (and how they actually work), try this: http://www.geocities.com/medinotes/vcd

OK, thanks. I saw your VCD demo and it was amazing. I will be trying to do something similar to that.

About my second question, I have a bunch of different videos stored as separate files. Should I merge them into 1 and create menus or is it easier/better to create the menus by selecting different MPGs?

    TIA

  4. If they are separate MPEGs to start off with, keep them as separate.

Having one large mpeg (and using entrypoints) is generally only useful for seamless playback for "chapters".
