Hi all, just curious to see any recommendations for plug-in packs because I am looking for additional transitions & effects for sony vegas?
I am editing films that require a lot of transitions.

Pixelan SpiceMaster does some nice stuff if you want the unusual.
I would also look at VASST downloads area for effects etc.
Personally, I think fancy transitions are over-rated and over used. Good editing doesn't need fancy transitions. Find one or two and use them consistently. Too many transitions just takes the viewer out of the moment and screams "Hey, I'm a movie !"
Look at other ways to distinguish between scenes. Colour correction and treatments can make a huge difference. Push indoor scenes in one direction, and outdoor in another, for example.Read my blog here.

This one is nice and it is freeware: http://www.debugmode.com/wax/
You can get more free transitions here: http://users.otenet.gr/~vassias/ -
I have access to hundreds of trasitions from the simplest to the most intricate 3d one such as full Hollywood Fx will all iavailable packs. The truth of the matrter is that I find miself using cross and wipe disolves fades to black 95% of the time. Just got done watching episodes 4-5-6 of Startwars and guess what. They used mostly simple wipes to cut between majer scene changes.
I've never come accross a project that requires "a lot of transitions"
Says who? In my oppinion it simply says to the audience,, hey take a look at what I can do on my PC. Take a look at most if not all succesful commercials or music videos. No transitions if any. Short hard cuts that make sense and maybe a few disolves is all you ever see being used.
I as well as probably everyone else here once used every trasition at thir disposal on every project they did. I looked cool as hell back then. The clients see right through that not proffessional but home made.
If you still insist, Vegas does not have a whole lot more third party plugings available as with maybe Premiere or even Pinnacle Studio.
I do love Vegas as it is does what I demand of it and it does not demand too much out of my PC.No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!
