    a)low bitrates from 3400-3800?

    b)bitrates from 4200-5000?

  2. Hi-

This one should do for your high bitrate anime. I got it from the retail R1 DVDs of some of the Miyazaki anime:

    08 08 08 09 11 13 14 17
    08 08 08 11 13 14 17 18
    08 09 10 11 14 17 17 19
    09 10 13 13 14 17 18 127
    10 13 13 14 16 17 127 127
    13 13 14 16 17 20 127 127
    13 13 14 17 19 23 127 127
    13 14 17 19 127 127 127 127

    08 08 09 09 10 10 11 11
    08 09 09 10 10 11 11 12
    09 09 10 10 11 11 12 12
    09 10 10 11 11 12 13 13
    10 10 11 11 12 13 13 14
    10 11 11 12 13 13 14 15
    11 11 12 13 13 14 15 15
    11 12 12 13 14 15 15 16

Be sure to check the ave quant when done to make sure it's not too high. Should be OK, though. For the lower bitrate one, I don't really have any anime specific matrices, but this one should do. It's called Kika's Comic Low and is said to be for animations with bitrates of 2500-3800. I've never used it, so I don't know for sure, but Kika knows his stuff:

    08 32 32 32 32 32 99 99
    32 32 32 32 32 32 99 99
    32 32 32 32 32 32 99 99
    32 32 32 32 32 32 99 99
    32 32 32 32 32 32 99 99
    32 32 32 32 32 99 99 99
    32 32 32 32 99 99 99 99
    32 32 32 99 99 99 99 99

    08 08 08 08 16 16 16 16
    08 08 08 08 16 16 16 16
    08 08 08 08 16 16 16 16
    08 08 08 08 16 16 16 16
    08 08 08 08 16 16 16 16
    08 08 08 08 16 16 16 16
    08 08 08 08 16 16 16 16
    08 08 08 08 16 16 16 16

You may even be able to use the first one for your lower bitrate anime, depending on how well it compresses. Miyazaki's anime are more detailed than most of the stuff out there. Like I said, check the ave quant when done. You might start collecting matrices from your DVDs using DGIndex with Options->Log Quant Matrices when saving the Project File D2V.
