I've a number of Mpeg2 files all about 340Mb (~42min) in size. When using TmpGenc DVD, I can import each file as a track. with the result that the finalised DVD has created individual VOBs for each imported Mpeg!

Now that's just what I want, allowing me to easily rip the VOBs at a later date without having to cut / edit a 1G+ VOB file.

Is there any way within DVD-lab to achieve the same. When DVD-lab remuxes, it always creates 1G VOBs! Is there some obscure setting that will allow this?

    Cheers

If you want each in it's own VOB (and I'm not sure why it matters to you, but anyway), you need to put each in it's own VTS (Video TitleSet). This is what TDA does behind the scenes when you use seperate tracks. While TDA's model is simple to understand, it is in fact misleading. A titleset is just that, as set of titles (i.e. 1 or more). When compiled, these will be in contiguous VOBs - as many as is required. Each titleset starts a new set of VOBs contain just the titles in that titleset.

In DLP, add a new VTS, and put your second movie in that. Repeat for each movie.

If all the movies have the same basic details (i.e. all 16:9 or all 4:3, all with the same audio format) then there is nothing to be gain by doing this in most circumstances. It just makes the menus more complex.
