    Hi,

I Need help converting wav to ac3 so it will match my PAL 25fps video.Original file:

    File:699 MB (699 MB), duration: 1:36:50, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality:55 %
    Video: 587 MB, 848 Kbps, 23.976 fps, 640*272 (2.21:1), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4
    Audio:112 MB, 162 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = MPEG Layer-3,Supported

Used virtualdub to change the video framerate to 25fps and saved as avi, separated the audio and saved as WAV,for some reason AC3Machine won't convert WAV to AC3,neither will besweet or belight.I did consider using mp2 instead but I hear that some dvd players have problems with mp2 playback.

Any good programs anyone can suggest that would allow me to change my 29fps wav file to a 25fps ac3 to match my video?

    thanks

Have you tried ffmpeggui? If you need to change the length of the WAV file, Audacity can do it. MPEG-1, layer 2 audio is valid for DVDs, especially in Europe and works on most all NTSC DVD players.

    BTW, audio doesn't have fps.

when I launch bsweet it says "this is a command line program.you can download a gui for it atwebsite)but I have the gui installed and on belight the ac3 option is there-after I set the framerate.output channel, sampling rate etc etc,and click start a black terminal opens and then closes instantly but nothing happens,I can use the other options like MP2,MP3,VORBIS/or Wav on belight and it converts but ac3 won't work.

Sorry my mistake, video is fps,I have tried ffmpeggui03c but I dont see an option like on ac3machine where the frame rate can be changed from 23976 to 25000 before saving as ac3.

I'll try Audacity for the moment, but thanks to the both of you for your help.
