S-VHS only in Black and White!

Im trying the wdm drivers for HAuppauge wintV (windows 2000)
and when I try hook up my vcr with S-vhs I can only get the signal in black and white

It works fine in win98 with the regular drivers
Can i fix it?

This is no help, but I'm having a similar problem, as described in the post below (Capturing Analog Video With Hollywood Dazzle DV Bridge). I'm using different hardware, but I'm also using Win2k. All NTSC VHS tapes come across in black and white.

No one has replied to my post. I hope you have more luck!

Are you using a S-VHS recorder , I had the same problem using S-VHS connections but the video I was usnig was none S-VHS problem sloved buy purchasing S-VHS recorder PAL tapes are fine . NTSC tapes come out in black and white I am awaiting a responce from Dazzle support as I use a DV bridge to capture.

I switched back to the vfm drivers and hey presto I have colour again
The wdm drivers seem buggy on my system
my cpu usuage shoots up to 20% when i scrool windows the tv picture jitters
I see non of these problems with vfw so best to stick with what works I guess

I have that same problem with the nVidia WDM drivers for my ASUS V6800 under Win2K. I find, even though I have the video-in plugged in to the S-Video port on my card, whenever I start VirtualDub for the first time after a reboot, it defaults back to Composite input, and the picture is B&W. Switching the "Source" in VDub to S-Video fixes that for the remainder of my Windows session... Until I reboot again, and its back to Composite. No big deal for me (a few clicks each time and its fixed) but maybe try changing your source.
