  1. Wasn't sure where to put this.

I have an old camcorder that has seen better days. The tape transport doesn't work. But it has audio and video out RCA ports and still turns works otherwise.

Anyone have any fun or creative ideas for what i could do with this thing?

Turn it into a webcam, and sell videos of yourself.

Use it like an old fashion camera "wired" to your VCR/DVR.

    Security camera.

    Toy for kids.

Shower cam for your wife's/girlfriend's hot friends.

Now to find a place to mount it.

    Both.

If it is one of those larger VHS cameras, you're going to have one hell of a time concealing the hole you are going to have to drill in the ceiling to poke (poke... that's funny) through. I'm not sure how you could camoflage that and get away with it. Besides, it would kind of odd if everytime one of your wife's/girlfriend's hot friends came over you tried to coax them into taking a shower. I'd imagine the "show" wouldn't last too long.

You can pinhole the wall and video the image on the other side. Very easy to conceal and a small microlens at the focal point can give a nice clear image. You could even periscope the image to the camera in the ceiling or wall.

Or Just do a direct connection to a VCR at home and put the camera on a stand. As long as it still has output video, the camera has worth and usage. At Christmas, All I do is put the camera on a stand anyway. I get sick when people try to move around and zoom in/out all the time. I had a stronger stomach for "The Blair Witch Project".

You could set up the camera in the bathroom on a tripod! Hidden in plain sight! Ha! That's the ticket. Avoid all of this covert wall drilling and such and just place the camera in the bathroom pointed at the shower. If anyone asks why there is a camera there, tell them it's a towel rack or something. I bet 90% of the time, no one would pay it any attention.

Now for a web server that can handle huge amounts of bandwidth.

With your luck they place their towel over the camera and ruin your shot.

If you don't have a loose camera, you can always go here and get one that'll be small enough to place anywhere you want. www.spycamman.com

Women most likely won't use a pRogane bottle, so that'd be the ticket to place it right where you want it. Ohh BABY!

Dare I ask how you know how to set up a peep-cam like this?

If the camera is big and/or ugly enough, you could mount it ouside your house (under an eave, maybe), aimed at the front door or driveway, and whether or not you actually hooked it up it might make a nice "security camera" for frightening away your more mild-mannered burglars.

And of course if somebody decides to steal it, no big loss!

Sounds like you've figured out a way to get the inlaws to stay at a hotel when they're in town.
