  1. Hello friends. I have a rather simple question most likely for you wizards. In the past I have used avi2dvd to re-encode AVI files to SVCD standards, and then burn them to CD.

However this time I would like to take a few AVI files and encode them for DVD format, BUT I want to put several of these AVI files on the DVD.

I would prefer to use avi2dvd if possible, as the software works great for me and I get great results. Any help would be much appreciated!

It is all about bitrate. I don't know avi2dvd, so I don't know if it can load multiple files at once, or if you have any control over the settings. Basically, you need to get the total running time for all the avis, use a bitrate calculator to work out the bitrate for the disk, then use this to encode so everything will fit. At full DVD resolution I wouldn't put more than 3 hours to a disk.

  3. gunslinger thanks for the help.

From what I read on Avi2DVD's website is I can put about 3-4 of the AVI's I want in a queue to process all together in one long running movie, which I didn't really want, however according to the author of the software I can put chapter points in it, so I can select where the new episodes begin.
