  1. Here's the thing. I've been making vcds for a while now and playing them on my dvd players. They've worked fine untill recently. I've encoded downloaded movies to vcd using tmpeg and burn them with nero using 2-3 cd-rw's. Problem I'm having now is that some cd's work and some don't. And sometimes I have to put the cd in and out about 10-20 times before it finally starts playing. Does anybody know what's happening???

  2. It looks like we cross-posted within minutes of each other, and that we are the only people with this problem - see post above yours.
If I find an answer I'll let you know; if you could return the favour I'd be most grateful...

  3. I recently came across similar problem. I saw one of my friends play a VCD in 4 year old Micron PC that has Windows 98 installed. It has regular CD ROM drive.
So I borrowed those VCD's and tried to play in my computers. I tried them in two computers.
    1) The first computer, an IBM Notebook 380 Z has 24 speed CD ROM drive and Windows ME. I tried to play using Windows Media Player version 6.4. The drive does not even recognize VCD forget about playing it thru Media player.
    2) Then I tried in another desktop that has two drives. One Philips CD RW and another Delta DVD drive. VCD is not even recognized in any of the drives.
    Can someone help ?
