  2. SVCD is encoded at a much higher bitrate than VCD. Generally, one can only fit about 50 minutes or so onto an 80 min (700 MB) disc. Get it?

Could be a multi pass vbr with really really low audio bitrate. I screwed up when i was making the matrix so I ended up with an svcd with 81 mins for cd 1, but surprisingly it looks really good, but it does have 2 pass vbr and an audio bitrate of about 96 (i think). It is possible but you would have to sacrafice lots of time for the extra passes and audio quality for it. In my opinion, its not worth the 25 cents you save for just using one cd, I use at lease 2 for every movie.

    Good Luck!

Oh yea, and the way the 787 mb file can fit on one cd is because it is a video file. The way it works for audio + video on a cd is 80 min is really 800 mb or 74 min will give you 740 mb of audio or video.

Not sure exactly why its that much lower with data, could have something to do with the fact that when you play and audio/video cd and its scratched you won't care too much, it will just keep playing with the errors (most of the time) but with data its must be more sensitive so if a file is corrupt you will know instead of getting a bunch of corrupt files off a cd. Of course thats speculation.

    hope this helps
