Hi all, wonder if someone could help me with the problem i am having with svcd2dvd 2.

I have been using the software for over a year now and make 10- 20 dvd's per week.
Recently the software is cutting 6-8 minutes off of the end of a film.
Today again i have converted an avi to vob using svcd2dvd 2 -

    Format - - Avi
    Duration - -1.36.21
    Bitrate - - 112kbps
    Dimensions - - 640 x 272
    Size - - - 700mb

I converted it with the software which took around 3 hrs to do and on checking b4 i put the converted files onto disc i only have a run time of 1.29.32 it has yet again cut almost 7 minutes off the end of the film.

This is now doing my head in so can anyone PLEASE help me with my problem??? ANY help would be greatly appreciated.
My comp is running winxp and i have all available updates.

I just dont know what is going on. All i know is that i get pretty peaved when the softeware has taken 3 hrs to complete the conversion only to find the end missing.

PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASE could someone help this poor old mum out???

  2. Have you checked the reencoded video to make sure you are in fact losing 7 minutes of video, and not just seeing different lengths because of different framerates used? A quick calculation told me going from ~25fps to ~30fps meant speeding up the video by close to your seven minutes.

    Just a guess.

Hi HeinzHarald, thanks for your input.

Yep i'm sure it's cutting the end off. I have been checking the end of the original avi and the dvd/vob files and it does indeed cut 6-7 minutes off the film.

It is really puzzeling me as it never used to do it.

    But thanks again heinzharold

Hi chrissyboy, will try to attach 2 log files to this post for you to look at. 2 different films that svcd2dvd has cut the end off of.
I must add that it doesn't do it with bin files. They convert just fine.

    Look forward to your reply

    According to
    DeviceID: G:
    FileSystem: FAT32
    Size: 232 GB
    FreeSpace: 151 GB
your file system is FAT32. FAT32 has a single file limit of 4GB. that is why the encoding stops when this has been reached.

Solution. Use a differnt drive or convert the G Drive to NTFS which is the prefered file system for XP.
