  1. I really want to convert .rm to .wmv but haven't found a way to do that directly. I recorded the Grammy's party last night from a webcast and now I'm trying to load it into VDUBMOD using a couple of guides here. I'm not sure if it has digital rights management or I'm just lousing up. I'm usually not this lost so maybe this is a tall order? Before I go any further I guess I should find out if it has DRM, right. Please help if you can.

  3. avisynth -> vdubmod. I'm real lost and get big red x's no matter what I try to do. Usually when recorded live it doesn't have DRM yet. I'm know I'm not being too specific but I feel I've tried everything but the one way that will work. My ultimate goal here is to edit one performance out of the telecast and convert it into a .wmv file. I tried two of the guides listed. I keep thinking that maybe it won't let me because it might have DRM. Here is a link to the re-broadcast.

You're not giving us much to work on here.

What steps have you tried and what steps did NOT work? What did?

How did you capture the rstp stream?

  6. You're right and I apologize, I lost track of my workflow so I couldn't post. I bought the program to convert to mpg then I'll convert that to .wmv. I usually don't have this kind of trouble and don't mind spending the money. This thing is so slow!

Just for fun, I tried using MPLayer's StreamDump, but it quit after the first segment and did a coredump. Right now I'm trying Real7ime, which dumps RTSP directly to AVI, we'll see how that goes. That stream is 3+ hours long!

EDIT: Stopped the program about 1 hour in, hit stop, program crashed.

If you've got PLENTY of HD space, you could use EO Video to convert from RM to a lossless AVI format like huffy, instead of MPG, to try to retain as much quality as possible before conversion to WMV.
