This is a combination of a newbie question and an authoring question so please excuse my ignorance. I couldn't find a topic that covered this - but then again maybe I didn't search for the right thing.

So here is a quick synopsis of what I would like to accomplish:

I have two videos that I'd like to put on a single dvd.
One video is shot with a true 16:9 camcorder.
The other is show in 4:3.
So they have to be in different titlesets.
I want the main menu to only show a button for video#1
(I would then do a post command to call video#2)

That is what I'd like to do - here is how I've tried it (All using GUI for DVDAuthor):

    Create a main menu
Drag the two videos onto the main menu
This creates two titlesets and two buttons
Hit the "create dvd" button in the tool
    Edit the xml as follows:
Remove the button pointing to video#2
Edit the post command to video#1 to call titleset 2 menu (which automagically goes to title 1)

This causes the obvious problem that the main menu has a pointer to the button which I removed and the process chokes because of the missing reference.

My question is: How can I "delete" the unwanted button and get something that authors correctly?

Have to wait for someone more familiar with DVD Author GUI to post a more definitive answer, but in case it helps...

With different aspects, using anamorphic & std 4:3 on a DVD, need to have two VST's I *think*. And there's restrictions as well on the ways the two titles can talk to each other. Can find the fine points here: http://www.dvd-replica.com/DVD/index.php

I again *think* in this case you want two menus, one for each video, with no links between them as you want to avoid displaying the second menu & button. The 1st menu would be the root that's automatically shown. Then have the 1st video play the 2nd when it finishes (end action). Also have to set the end action and remote behavior with the 2nd video to prevent it from going to the dummy 2nd menu.

    Hope that might help.

  3. The most simple procedure would be to format the second button to 'invisible'
(Text Button with just a space character, no gifmask). If the invisible button still disturbs you, send me a note by email, the newest version (not yet officially available) has a special option for this purpose...
