  1. I'm trying to convert a .wmv to .mpg using Tmpgenc. After the conversion, the new mpg plays, but halfway through I lose audio.

The video AND audio for the original wmv play fine with mplayer.

I ran Avicodec on the wmv, and this is what I got:

    Video : 577 MB, 699 Kbps, 11.853 fps, 320*240 (4:3), WMV3 = Windows Media Video 9, Supported

    Audio : 54 MB, 65 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x161 = Windows Media Audio 9.1, Unsupported
    (btw...I am running Windows 98 )

Is it the unsupported codec that is causing the problem? And if so, why does mplayer (Media Player Classic) work (with the wmv)?

Any thoughts on how I can convert?

(lots of recommended tools don't function for me, due to my Windows 98 level).

    Thanks.

    avisynth + tmpgenc, https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=284288

or export the audio from the wmv to wav with goldwave. and use it as source in tmpgenc.
